I love food especially well-cooked food and we are not talking about the mucked about food served in restaurants with nose bleed prices. In fact I am one big foodie hypocrite. I will scorn processed foods and ready meals but will enjoy a Big Mac Meal from the comfort of my car seat but will turn my nose up at supermarket burgers because I am not quite sure what goes into them!
Food to me is something that comforts, satisfies and sometimes excites. When I shop I am more interested in what is in it, and not how much it costs. There again you can buy the freshest most expensive ingredients and still make them taste like cardboard when you get home. Cooking is a skill and it does come with practice and it doesn’t always look like the picture in the book.
I started this blog to try to push me into trying recipes that I might have just overlooked or didn’t like the look of one of two of the ingredients so dismissed it when in fact if I had eaten it cooked by someone else I might have raved about it. Not only am I a hypocrite but I discriminate too. I hope this blog will help me to see the errors of my ways.
